Registered Manager
Service: 3 Bed Children’s Residential Care (EBD)
Location: Oldham, OL8
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per year (DOE)
We’re looking for a Registered Manager to lead an already registered children’s home in Oldham that supports young people 7 to 17 years with emotional and behavioural needs. This is a well-resourced, well-thought-out setup, with a focus on stability, therapeutic care, and good long-term outcomes. The home is part of a wider group that also offers education and fostering, so you’ll be working in a joined-up environment with consistent professional support.
This is a role for someone with strong leadership experience who understands the complexity of residential care. You’ll be confident holding Ofsted registration, leading a team in a regulated setting, and making sound decisions around safeguarding, care planning and risk.
Key responsibilities:
* Running the home in line with the Statement of Purpose and Children’s Homes Regulations
* Leading, supporting and developing the staff team through clear supervision and expectations
* Building and maintaining effective relationships with professionals, families and the wider network
* Managing care planning, risk assessments and placement stability
* Ensuring the home is always prepared for inspection and meets quality standards
* Supporting the emotional wellbeing of staff and embedding reflective, therapeutic practice
* Managing rotas, recruitment, staffing levels and budget
What we’re looking for:
* Experience as a Registered Manager or a confident Deputy ready for registration
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or working towards it)
* A strong understanding of safeguarding, emotional wellbeing and risk in residential settings
* Calm, consistent leadership and the ability to support staff in high-pressure situations
* Full UK manual driving licence
What’s on offer:
* £60,000 salary
* Clinical input from in-house therapists
* Senior leadership support from people with direct experience in residential care
* Opportunities to develop and influence service direction
* A clear commitment to staff development and wellbeing
This is a chance to lead a stable, focused home with the right support behind you. If you’re ready to take ownership and lead with purpose, we’d like to hear from you.
