Job Description:
A leading manufacturer of specialist construction materials and products is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their West Midlands manufacturing facility. This is a permanent role focused on improving plant performance, maximising production uptime and availability, and supporting high-value capital projects across the plant.
Commutable from: Birmingham, Coventry, Redditch, Warwick, Tamworth

The Role
The Engineering Manager will coordinate and deliver the site engineering and maintenance plan in accordance with the business strategic plan and the required production volumes. Operating with safety and efficiency at the forefront, you will ensure that organizational values are upheld and that the plant safely achieves maximum machine and process uptime/availability.
The Engineering Manager will lead the maintenance and engineering teams to ensure both planned and reactive maintenance and commissioning works are delivered safely and effectively. You will ensure all maintenance records are accurately maintained and filed, and provide expert mentoring and guidance to the team from both a technical and leadership perspective.
The role requires effective communication across all stakeholder levels and experience managing a budget exceeding £1M for engineering and CAPEX.
The Person
The Engineering Manager should have proven experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment, working across rotating shift and continuous process operations. Hands-on experience in maintenance or project engineering and the ability to read technical drawings are highly advantageous.
An awareness of best practices in health, safety, and environmental areas is essential, along with strong leadership skills to support, motivate, and lead a successful engineering team including maintenance and project engineers.
The candidate should have knowledge of engineering best practices, modern lean tools, and analytical methods, with a track record of measuring and improving machine and process uptime in manufacturing.
