Salary on appointment will be £57,422 per annum (pro rata), with an annual increment up to £66,537 per annum (pro rata).

Position Overview
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Associate Professor in Speech & Language Therapy (SLT), with proven expertise in dysphagia/eating, drinking, and swallowing (EDS), to join our dedicated academic team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the dysphagia/EDS strand of the SLT curriculum, overseeing content and assessment related to motor speech disorders and neurological conditions.
2. Support practice education placements as an in-house educator.
3. Contribute to programme and School educational priorities and scholarly activities.
4. Maintain and enhance the integration of dysphagia/EDS content across the programme, ensuring students achieve pre-registration competencies in this area.
Qualifications and Experience
* Current or evidenced eligibility to register with the HCPC and Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
* First and higher degrees in SLT, linguistics, psychology, education, or other health-related disciplines.
* Extensive post-qualifying experience in dysphagia/EDS.
* Evidence of clinical and/or educational leadership in this area.
Additional Details
This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed-term position until 31 December 2028, requiring working on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Appointment is subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level, including checks against the Child and Adult Barred Lists.
