The role The Collections Operations Technician will be based at the Collections Stores in Belfast, with regular travel across all National Museums NI sites. As part of a dedicated Collections Tech team, the Collections Operations Technician will be responsible for the safe packing, movement, and installation of museum collections and non-collection materials across National Museums NI sites, storage facilities and other venues as required. The role includes technical tasks, such as framing and modifying frames for paintings, hanging paintings for display and constructing supports and fixings for objects. The Collections Operations Technician will ensure the safety and security of the objects at all times by adhering to established procedures and following best practice in collections care. The Collections Operations Technician will be required to operate vehicles and equipment as well as undertake courier duties as needed for the movement of objects $ which may involve occasional overnight travel &/ or weekends.
