Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 4 Occupational Therapy Healthcare Support Worker to join our Stroke Rehabilitation service at Woodend Hospital. This post will involve working directly alongside the specialist Occupational Therapy and wider multi-disciplinary teams to deliver clinical assessment, rehabilitation plans and techniques to increase patient’s independence to engage in meaningful activities of daily living following stroke. The majority of interventions will take place within the Stroke Rehabilitation wards at Woodend Hospital, but will also involve visits to patient’s homes, community areas and places of work to ensure support and ongoing rehabilitation during transition from hospital to home. The post holder will require a valid Driving Licence for driving within the UK, and have access to a car for work purposes.
Key Responsibilities
Extensive experience of working within both hospital and community healthcare settings in an OT or related environment is required for this post. Applicants will require knowledge of stroke and varying medical conditions, occupational therapy equipment, have excellent communication and IT skills.
Regular supervision and training are integral parts of the job, as is service development and improvement.
There may be a requirement in the future for weekend working / public holiday working to meet the service needs.

Additional Information
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
