Icknield Primary Care Network PCN isrecruiting Pharmacy Technicians to support the well-established clinicalpharmacy team based within the Primary Care Network in line with the newNetwork Contract Directed Enhanced Service (DES) Specification.
This role will provide technical support tothe Clinical Pharmacists and other pharmacy services within General Practiceand the PCN to ensure professional operational standards and excellence inpharmaceutical care and safety are maintained.
The post holder will have access toappropriate clinical supervision and an appropriate named individual in the PCNto provide general advice and support on a day-to-day basis.
The post holder will work as part of amultidisciplinary team in a patient facing role, based either remotely orwithin a member GP Practice, but working for all GP Practices across the PCN asrequired.
This post is part of the Additional RolesReimbursement Scheme for PCNs funded by NHS England
and includes fundedaccess to the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education pathway with support from aSenior Pharmacist mentor and colleagues who have already completed the pathway.
This role will be based in multiple locations, including Ashwell Surgery(which also has a site in Bassingbourn), among others within Icknield PCN
Main duties of the job
Working under Supervision of a Clinical Pharmacist the Pharmacy Technicians core roleresponsibilities will cover clinical, technical and administrative categories.
In addition, the postholder will be responsible for encouraging the development of betterunderstanding of the principles of medicines optimisation throughout thePractice teams and promoting good practice in line with therapeuticdevelopments. This will involve assisting the PCN in achieving nationalrequirements, NICE implementation and utilisation of medicines optimisationinitiatives.

Qualifications
* -General Pharmaceutical Council Registration as a Pharmacy Technician
* -BTEC National Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science, NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Services or equivalent
* -Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
* - Has completed Primary Care Pathway with the Centre of Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE)
Experience
* -Previous experience working within a patient facing role
* - Recent previous experience within comparable role in General Practice
