The role of Housing Officerwill include:
1. Delivering high quality housing management services meeting the needs and expectations of current and future residents and the wider community
2. Responsible for a patch consisting of general needs and affordable housing properties
3. Effective management of anti-social behavior cases
4. Providing an effective tenancy and resident customer service which is in line with policies and procedures
5. Managing tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting resident welfare via appropriate channels
6. Dealing with complaints about service delivery focusing on first contact resolution and learning from this to help to develop an excellent customer service
7. Liaising with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the effective allocation of void properties
8. Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)
9. Working with a range of external agencies to resolve a range of issues affecting tenant welfare including, domestic abuse, anti-social behaviour, and safeguarding
10. Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes, which include tenancy conversions, permissions, mutual exchanges, successions, service charges, and enforcement of tenancy breaches
Skills and experiences:
11. Proven experience of undertaking a similar role
12. Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
13. Excellent customer service and customer care skills
14. Proven experience of good practice resident involvement activities
15. An understanding of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
16. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
17. Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
18. Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
