Electronics Design Engineer – Location: Canterbury, Kent
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
What You'll Be Doing
* Capturing specifications and turning them into robust electronic designs
* Selecting and evaluating the right technologies for each project
* Producing schematic designs, simulations, and supporting design reviews
* Completing PCB layout and participating in peer reviews
* Writing technical notes, reports, and test specifications
* Leading designs through verification and formal qualification
* Supporting production through fault-finding and documentation
* Managing component obsolescence
* Visiting suppliers or customers when required (driving licence needed)
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
* Experience in electronic design and development roles
* Understanding of electromechanical and control systems
* Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and inspection processes
* Experience with EMC, environmental testing standards is beneficial
Skills & Tools
* Proficient with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium)
* Soldering and building prototype circuits
* Circuit simulation tools (SPICE)
* Matlab/Simulink
* Strong mathematical ability
* Advantageous: Embedded C/C++, C#, application-level C++
