Data Engineer – SQL & Cloud
£60,000 + Bonus | Hybrid (2/3 days a week in Central London)
We’re hiring on behalf of a fast-growing specialist financial services organisation that’s undergoing a major two-year data transformation. With a strong focus on innovation and collaboration, they’re investing in modern technologies and expanding their team to deliver smarter, data-driven decision-making across the business.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a Data Engineer with 2+ years of experience to work in a constantly evolving, forward-thinking data team. You'll be surrounded by over 70 years of combined team experience, giving you a rare opportunity to learn, grow and step into a Senior Data Engineer role within the next two years.
What you’ll be doing:
* Designing, building and maintaining scalable ETL pipelines across the Snowflake cloud platform
* Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver effective data solutions
* Supporting BAU operations (80%) while contributing to innovative transformation projects (20%)
* Enhancing the platform with tools like Matillion, DBT, Python, and supporting the shift towards CI/CD pipelines and event-driven architecture
* Ensuring high standards of data quality, governance and documentation
* Supporting implementation of infrastructure-as-code and automation strategies
What you'll bring:
* Strong SQL (DDL and DML) and cloud data platform experience (Snowflake or similar)
* Familiarity with ETL tools (Matillion, DBT or equivalent)
* Python scripting experience for data handling or automation
* Curiosity and willingness to explore new tools and approaches
* Effective communication skills and ability to manage technical and non-technical stakeholders
