Role Overview: Are you passionate about engineering excellence and driving manufacturing innovation? We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Cheltenham. In this role, you will support UK Supply by ensuring that products are engineered efficiently, shop floor processes are standardised and repeatable, and all methodologies are clearly documented. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
Your Objectives And Responsibilities
* Defining and optimizing manufacturing processes.
* Creating CNC programs and supporting CNC machine tools.
* Specifying and procuring tools, workholding, and inspection equipment.
* Developing clear and effective Work Instructions.
* Supporting the introduction of new machines and new product introductions (NPI).
* Providing engineering solutions and support to the manufacturing facility.
* Implementing Future Factory solutions to meet production demands.
* Collaborating closely with internal teams including Production Engineers, Toolroom, Planning, and Health & Safety.
* Leading and participating in improvement projects to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Your Experience And Qualifications
* Extensive machine shop experience with a strong understanding of CNC machining and programming.
* Proven track record in Production Engineering and Process Planning.
* Experience with metal cutting, workholding, and cutting tools.
* Familiarity with MRP systems (e.g., JD Edwards/E1) and Microsoft Office.
* Background in technical engineering, ideally supported by an HNC in Engineering and a completed mechanical apprenticeship.
* Exposure to Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma or 5Y.
* Involvement in cross-functional project work and risk assessments.
