Research & Development Laboratory Analyst (Ref No: 25/21) Terumo BCT Ltd - located in Larne - manufactures a range of sterile fluids for human and veterinary use. A vacancy currently exists for a full-time permanent R&D Laboratory Analyst. The successful candidate will carry out all laboratory methods, ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained and assist in the day to day running of the Analytical Development Laboratory and assist in the implementation of the Site Quality Management System. Duties will include: To work under the direct supervision of the Senior Analyst (Analytical Development) who reports to the Laboratory Manager. To be capable of using all the analytical equipment within the laboratory in a competent and careful manner. To perform laboratory analysis based on documented analytical methods and procedures. To analyse to the appropriate test specification all stability and analytical development samples, and any other routine and non-routine analysis required in the laboratory. To implement calibrations of laboratory equipment and to ensure that all such equipment is maintained in good working order. To ensure all bench reagents and volumetric solutions are prepared as described in documented procedures and have been standardised where necessary. To maintain neat and accurate analysis records. Organise the sampling and storage of Stability and Retain Samples. Contribute to the writing of specifications, analytical methods and procedures. To develop methods and perform analytical testing according to protocols to support method transfer, verification and validation Applicants must possess: A degree in Chemistry, or a closely related subject. Laboratory experience, including use of HPLC The ability to work harmoniously with others The ability to work to strict deadlines Effective communication skills The ability to work additional hours, shifts, as and when required (this may occasionally include evenings or weekends) The ability to carry 5L bags/10L containers In addition, the following would be a distinct advantage: Two years work experience gained within a Chemistry Laboratory Knowledge of GMP and quality assurance systems Knowledge of GC, AA, UV, IR and water testing Experience of method validation/verification or method transfer Knowledge of Pharmaceutical industry, method validation, calibration of equipment Applicants must clearly demonstrate how they meet all essential and desirable criteria.
