Estimator (Engineering)
Our Established engineering client based in Telford is looking for a full-time permanent estimator engineer to help strengthen an existing team that has taken on a number of clients and workload to help diversify their workforce.
Responsibilities
* Support the sales department by preparing estimates, budgets and cost models in a timely and accurate manner. The estimator engineer must be confident dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders and adapt their management and leadership style to each situation, providing a full technical appraisal of customer requirements.
* Receive and review requests for quotations from the sales department, deal directly with the sales team regarding customer and service enquiries, find an appropriate technical solution and budget accordingly, and obtain costs of materials, consumables, sub‑contract work, etc.
* Support estimates that have already been created, assist sales and project management both on‑site and off‑site, assist with sales order administration and contract reviews where necessary, actively work with the sales team to seek sales and marketing opportunities, and represent the company by visiting customers together with the sales, project and engineering teams when bid clarification is required.
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum 5 years experience in the role.
* Estimation/engineering background in a heavy‑lifting equipment environment.
* Familiar with AutoCAD, Inventor and Vault Bright.
* Mechanical Engineering qualification to HNC level (desirable, not essential).
* Customer‑focused professional with a can‑do positive attitude.
* Good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Conscientious, creative and a problem solver.
* Able to meet strict deadlines and manage time efficiently.
* Strong drive to rapidly absorb and develop skills across a wide range of engineering disciplines with strict attention to detail.
Salary
£30,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Hours
8 a.m.–4:45 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 8 a.m.–12 p.m. Friday.
