Role Responsibilities
As a Conveyancing Assistant you will provide support and assistance to the Conveyancing department and wider team members, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard while delivering a responsive and professional service to clients.
The day-to-day job duties within this role include:
* Preparing legal documentation and supporting paperwork for residential property transactions
* Managing correspondence relating to property sales and purchases
* Assisting with the progression of conveyancing files from instruction through to completion
* Reviewing title documentation and supporting fee earners with enquiries raised during transactions
* Coordinating property searches and communicating outcomes to clients where required
* Obtaining financial and mortgage-related documentation to support transactions
* Assisting with lender requirements and preparing reports on mortgage matters
* Carrying out compliance checks including identification and source of funds verification
* Supporting the exchange and completion process to ensure transactions progress efficiently
* Maintaining regular communication with clients, estate agents, lenders and third parties
* Preparing completion packs and assisting with post‑completion administration
* Handling Land Registry applications and associated post‑completion matters
* Supporting the preparation and submission of SDLT documentation
Person Specification
The successful Conveyancing Assistant will have previous experience within a conveyancing or residential property environment (either as a Secretary or Assistant) and will be confident supporting fee earners with a varied caseload.
