Behavioural Mentor – Hereford
Are you passionate about helping young people manage their emotions and behaviour in positive ways? We’re looking for a Behavioural Mentor to join a supportive and inclusive special school in Hereford.
The school supports pupils aged 2 to 11 with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and associated behavioural challenges.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s caring, resilient, and dedicated to helping children reach their potential — whether you have experience in behaviour support, youth work, or are looking to grow in a school-based role.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
2. Supporting students to manage emotions, behaviour, and social interactions
3. Working 1:1 or in small groups to deliver mentoring and targeted interventions
4. Helping to implement behaviour plans and support strategies
5. Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and support staff
6. Acting as a positive role model to promote confidence and resilience

What We’re Looking For:
13. Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (desirable but not essential)
14. Friendly, flexible, and patient personality
15. Understanding of or interest in ASD, SLD, PMLD
16. Confident assisting with personal care and physical support
17. Strong communication skills and a team player attitude
18. Own transport preferred due to school location
19. Willingness to undertake Moving & Handling and other relevant CPD training
20. A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs succeed

Salary
£13.68 per Hour
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
