 
        
        The post holder will work closely with the Safeguarding children team and others across the service to ensure that HDFT statutory duties and safeguarding children responsibilities are supported effectively. The role involves collaborating with the Specialist Nurse Child Protection, gathering and analysing clinical records, assessing risk, and sharing the appropriate health information at safeguarding meetings. The Strategy Nurse will provide information to partners, including signposting to appropriate health providers and services, and will carry out any other duties requested by the Locality Manager who leads the Safeguarding pillar.
Responsibilities
 * Work closely with the Safeguarding Children team and others across the service to ensure statutory duties and safeguarding responsibilities are supported effectively.
 * Collaborate with Specialist Nurse Child Protection to gather and analyse clinical records, assess risk and share health information at safeguarding meetings.
 * Signpost colleagues to relevant professionals and appropriate health providers.
 * Provide information to partners, signposting to appropriate health providers and services.
 * Carry out any other duties requested by the Locality Manager who leads the Safeguarding pillar.
 * Provide direct face‑to‑face work with children and their families, including health needs and home environment assessments, and delegate work priorities under the supervision of the Locality Manager or Specialist Nurse Child Protection.
 * Link to Local Safeguarding Children's Partnerships and advise and support practitioners concerned about child welfare from initial concern through the Child Protection process to legal proceedings.
 * Provide training in line with the Intercollegiate Document: Safeguarding Children: Roles and Competencies of Health Professionals (2019).
 * Provide reflective supervision.
 * Support and promote effective inter‑ and multi‑agency working.
 * Support organisational governance processes to assure a safe service, including developing appropriate policies and procedures.
