Applications are welcomed from UK and international doctors training in adult cardiology with the necessary experience to undertake a period of training in advanced transcatheter structural heart interventions. This post is suitable for an experienced interventional trainee (close to or post CCST or with an international equivalent) seeking focused training in structural intervention, particularly around TAVI.
To maximize availability for the TAVI service, there will be no participation in the middle grade cardiology on-call rota.
The role involves dedicated daytime activities within the TAVI team, working closely with TAVI operators and nurses based at Wythenshawe. The successful candidate will learn all aspects of TAVI assessment, procedures, CT analysis, and echocardiographic evaluation of aortic valve disease.
As a reference centre for TAVI CT training and the only centre in Europe offering dedicated CT training for Edwards Sapien and Medtronic Evolut valves, we provide unparalleled training in CT TAVI assessment. Trainees will have access to the latest version of the gold-standard 3Mensio software, which is not readily available elsewhere.
