What you’ll be doing:
* Deliver an independent review of the cost and performance of the project or group of projects, providing sound financial support and advice, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers, and evaluating processes to ensure robust, relevant, and adequate financial controls.
* Deliver value-adding, robust financial service to the project team.
* Provide accurate and consistent project reporting information to meet the needs of the project team and finance management within the required timescales, including the preparation of Summary Status Reports and Contact Status Reports and related trading plans (where relevant).
* Monitor financial performance, providing independent and robust financial challenge.
* Reconcile financial reports to source ledgers to ensure data integrity.
* Initiate continuous review & improvement of processes and procedures to meet financial control requirements.
* Take responsibility for decisions that significantly impact project performance.
* Coach non-finance employees on related matters.
Your skills and experience:
* Project Lifecycle Management (LCM) Process
* Business Systems experience (SAP/BPC)
* Finance Governance requirements, including financial control framework
* Knowledge of MoD Accounting/Contracting requirements (desirable)

The S&T team (Products):
The Simulation & Training team develops, deploys, and supports complex simulators and training solutions to maximize operational advantage and develop next-generation products.
As part of this team, you will be the project finance point of contact within the S&T team, working closely with the finance business partner and project teams, managing a portfolio of contracts and bids for domestic customers in a dynamic environment.
