Join GCIL and Make a Difference!

At the GCIL (Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living), we empower disabled people with the information, skills, and support they need to lead independent lives and participate fully in society.

As a disabled-people-led organisation, we centre lived experience and pride ourselves on delivering high-quality services that make a real impact in our communities.

Why Join Us?

* Meaningful Impact: Be part of a newly funded co-production project that uses disabled people’s lived experience to identify barriers and co-create solutions. The insights you help gather will directly shape how disabled adults are supported to sustain employment.
* Collaborative Approach: Work closely with a diverse steering group of disabled people, building positive relationships and facilitating genuine co-production.
* Autonomy and Ownership: Take responsibility for leading and shaping the project from start to finish, with the freedom to apply your skills in project management, facilitation, and inclusive practice.
* Showcasing Expertise: This role offers the chance to demonstrate your co-design and stakeholder engagement skills on a high-profile project that will inform future service delivery and policy.

About the Role

We’re looking for a committed, organised, and collaborative Project Manager to lead a unique, 8 month-long initiative aimed at understanding and improving job retention for disabled people.

This project places lived and living experience at its heart. Working alongside a diverse, paid steering group of disabled people, you’ll use the Scottish Approach to Service Design to explore the barriers disabled people face in staying in work and co-create potential solutions.

You’ll lead on planning, facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and delivery of key outputs including a research report, solution toolkit, and the successful coordination of a lived experience group.

We’re looking for someone with:

* Proven experience managing community-based projects, ideally with direct involvement in co-production or co-design
* A strong understanding of disability equality and inclusive practice
* Excellent facilitation, communication, and project coordination skills

We Actively Welcome Disabled Applicants

As a disabled people-led organisation, we are especially keen to hear from disabled people, including those with lived experience of navigating support systems or barriers in society.

We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. If you have lived experience of disability, we strongly encourage you to apply.

If you need adjustments during the application or interview process, just let us know we’re happy to support you.

We guarantee interviews for all disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria outlined in the job description.

Ready to Join Us?

If you’re passionate about inclusion, empowerment, and social justice and ready to grow your leadership in a values-led environment we’d love to hear from you!
