We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide essential support to healthcare professionals in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and urgent care facilities. Your responsibilities will encompass patient care, administrative tasks, and ensuring a high standard of service for our patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical terminology, patient service skills, and a commitment to delivering quality care.
Responsibilities
* Assist healthcare professionals with patient intake and assessment processes.
* Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring accurate documentation in EHR systems.
* Provide direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
* Administer medications as prescribed and assist with treatment plans.
* Support dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and surgical procedures as needed.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
* Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care and treatment.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
* Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments.
* Perform ICD coding for accurate medical record keeping.
* Engage with patients in geriatric care, medical-surgical units, PICU, or OR settings as required.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred; hospital experience is a plus.
* Knowledge of medical terminology and basic life support techniques.
* Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient patient documentation.
* Understanding of vital signs monitoring and medication administration protocols.
* Experience working in urgent care or trauma centers (Level I or II) is desirable.
* Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient service excellence.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team environment.
