BAM has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Mechanic to join our Operational Team. You will work to continually improve safety, systems, and processes, providing ongoing training and enhancing product knowledge. Your role will support our commitment to excellence in customer service and support our expanding client and site portfolio.
We seek a self-motivated candidate capable of servicing and repairing various plant and equipment, resolving mechanical issues, and embracing our work ethic and values of making the construction industry safer and environmentally conscious.
Your work environment
* Based at our Kilsyth, Scotland depot with willingness to travel across the UK and stay away from home.

Your mission
* Perform workplace risk assessments independently and with the team.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors and management.
* Resolve technical issues related to plant and equipment, sharing knowledge and using initiative on-site.
* Conduct and record regular plant inspections.
* Carry out scheduled servicing per manufacturer specifications.
* Maintain internal plant to company standards.
* Perform on/off-hire PDI and pre-examination inspections.
* Lead or advise others (apprentices/operators) on safe operation and maintenance.
* Seek advice or advise on plant modifications to ensure compliance.
* Follow work programs set by your manager.
* Collaborate with operational teams on workload.
* Maintain personal development records.
* Document all work in the company's electronic system.
* Conduct workshop inspections.
* Ensure safety and environmental compliance.
* Manage on-site working hours per procedures.
* Maintain company vehicle and contents.
* Respond to mechanical issues outside normal hours when needed.
* Keep spare parts stocks for company vehicles.
Who are we looking for?
* NVQ Level 2 Plant Mechanic or equivalent.
* Full clean driving license.
