Lead Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Cancer Services (Band 6) An exciting opportunity to combine hands-on leadership with genuine clinical development. Join our Pharmacy Cancer Services team and take a lead role in delivering safe, timely and patient-focused care for people receiving cancer treatment.
In this Band 6 role you'll lead the day-to-day technical service within Pharmacy Cancer Services. You'll balance operational leadership with a strong quality focus, helping shape a safe and efficient environment for handling high-risk medicines.
You will have the opportunity to extend your practice in Cancer Services, developing the technical service alongside involvement in audits, SOP development and service improvement.
Within this role, you would be expected to advance your clinical skills and be involved in clinical verification of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) and supportive treatments in line with local governance and BOPA standards.
Responsibilities
* Lead the day-to-day technical service within Pharmacy Cancer Services, balancing operational leadership with quality and safety aims.
* Support audits, SOP development and service improvement activities.
* Advance clinical skills and participate in clinical verification of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) and supportive treatments in line with local governance and BOPA standards.
* Provide supervision and training support for colleagues, contributing to a safe and efficient high-risk medicines environment.
Qualifications
* GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician with ACPT.
* Experience in supervising and training others; organised, proactive and calm under pressure with a strong commitment to safety, quality and compassionate patient care.
* Ability to lead and grow clinically within Cancer Services.
Person Specification
* Evidence of a good standard of written English appropriate to the role.
* A complete and accurate application.
* Suitability for the role evidenced in supporting statement and evidence of essential experience and qualifications.
* Hold the necessary mandatory professional/clinical registration and demonstrate Trust values and behaviours.

Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 a year plus high cost allowance.
