This is a key position reporting directly to the Managing Director.
The Role As the Environment, Health & Safety Manager, you will take ownership of the sites EHS strategy and day-to-day operations.
Working closely with Site and Operational Management, you will ensure compliance, drive risk-reduction initiatives and support teams in delivering a safe, sustainable working environment.
Key responsibilities include: Ensuring full site compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation Developing, implementing and improving EHS management systems Leading health and safety risk-reduction initiatives to safeguard employees and the business Developing and improving environmental programmes with legal, risk-reduction and cost-saving objectives Managing the sites Occupational Health programme and liaising with the Occupational Health provider Acting as the site focal point for gathering evidence for insurers in relation to personal injury claims Supporting Managers and Team Leaders in fulfilling their EHS responsibilities Conducting accident and incident investigations and recommending corrective actions Carrying out Risk Assessments and driving improvement actions Delivering and monitoring EHS training and toolbox talks Tracking and maintaining EHS KPIs Maintaining EHS documentation in line with Quality Management processes Moderating EHS workshops and promoting a positive safety culture Identifying site training needs and maintaining personal CPD About the Organisation This is a respected, quality-focused operation with a strong commitment to safety, sustainability and continuous improvement.
