About the role
An opportunity has arisen to become part of an innovative, forward thinking stock control operation within the Best Food logistics team.
As a Stock Control Assistant, you will be joining a small team responsible for maintaining the stock accuracy of fresh, chilled, frozen and ambient products for our customers
Working Hours:
5 out of 7 days -
Main Responsibilities
8. Manage product shelf life
9. Verification of stock including correct pack sizes, quantity, price and best before dates
10. Managing returns to supplier/Depots
11. Promote good relations with external and internal suppliers
12. React effectively to sales fluctuations, seasonal changes and supply problems in order to minimise out of stock lines
13. Ensure that extensive communication channels exist and are upheld between suppliers, managers, in-house colleagues and external depots
14. Take an active role throughout depot stock take procedure
15. Produce and monitor key performance indicators
16. Ensure correct balance of stock in all temperature areas of the warehouse
17. Control day to day activity concerning export
18. Manage day to day non-core activity
19. Escalate any supplier issues to the Stock Manager, ensuring prompt action is taken with regards to substitute products
20. Manage slow moving products and removals of delisted products
21. Achieve and maintain customer product availability to the required period service level of 98%
22. Support the Stock Control Team Manager with the achievement of service level targets and department objectives
23. Ensure production of daily, weekly and period reports
24. Use of MHE
You will need
Essential Skills:
25. Numerical skills
26. Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
27. Excellent communication skills
28. Excel, Word, Outlook and internet
29. The ability to prioritise
30. Experience within FMCG environment
Desirable:
31. Some previous stock control experience
32. A working knowledge of Logistics and Store operations
33. Current FLT reach truck licence
34. Educated to GCSE standard
