FX Senior Business Analyst Job Description
Purpose of the role
To support the organisation in achieving its strategic objectives by identifying business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.
Accountabilities
1. Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
2. Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
3. Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
4. Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
5. Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
6. Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
7. Create operational and process designs to ensure proposed solutions are delivered within scope.
8. Support change management activities, including developing a traceability matrix to ensure successful implementation and embedding of solutions.

Join Barclays as an FX Senior Business Analyst to support FX systems in a transformation programme. The role involves internal stakeholder guidance across global teams, working with various technical and design teams to deliver FX technology solutions, migrating from legacy systems to a more agile setup.
The role requires assessing business processes, eliciting requirements, and translating these into user stories with clear success criteria for developers.
To succeed, you should have:
* Ability to articulate requirements clearly to both business and technical stakeholders.
* Understanding of technical solutions and their alignment with business needs.
* Strong communication skills to engage with senior stakeholders and technical teams.
* Capability to secure approvals and sign-offs for requirements.
Technical capabilities include:
* Investigating application landscapes
* Supporting solution architects with data queries
* Reading and understanding .json/.xml files
* Querying databases
* Evaluating data files and capturing data flows
* Documenting current and target business processes
* Connecting requirements to test cases and collaborating with developers and testers to confirm requirements are met.
Valued skills include:
* Knowledge of banking, especially FX trading or cross-currency payments
* Experience in Agile environments, using Jira, Scrum boards, and ceremonies
* Supporting delivery teams with stakeholder communication, MI, and reporting
