This role leads a department in Operations Catchment Services, overseeing more than 70 technical experts delivering a national water resources service. Responsibilities include shaping statutory Water Resource Management Plans, providing expert input to the National Framework for Water Resources, managing programmes for sustainable abstraction, drought planning and management, developing talent and skills in water planning, and national modelling of water resources and groundwater.
Responsibilities
* Shape and scrutinise Water companies' statutory Water Resource Management Plans.
* Provide expert input to the National Framework for Water Resources.
* Manage programmes that deliver sustainable abstraction.
* Plan and manage drought mitigation efforts.
* Develop talent and skills in water planning.
* Lead national modelling of water resources and groundwater.
* Lead operational delivery of services, ensuring resources are used effectively, priorities are met, and performance is efficient.
