Working across the North as part of our Restore Nature Specialist Delivery team, you’ll use your expertise in cultural and historic landscapes to inform and influence landscape change at scale. You’ll help ensure that decisions about nature recovery are grounded in an understanding of how landscapes have been occupied, shaped and valued over time, and how people continue to relate to them today. This will include contributing to landscape design processes, shaping and commissioning heritage impact assessments, and embedding both tangible and intangible heritage into projects. You’ll work closely with colleagues and partners to inspire confidence in engaging people with place, support the development of high‑quality and inclusive interpretation, and represent cultural heritage in decision‑making. Alongside project work, you’ll contribute to wider organisational change, including national programmes and the adaptive re-use of heritage assets, and build strong relationships with partners such as universities, research bodies, voluntary organisations and community groups. This is a new and influential role that will help ensure landscape change across the North of England is ambitious, authentic and rooted in cultural heritage, while supporting transformational outcomes for nature in a changing climate. This is a part time role, offering 30 hours per week, there is a degree of flexibility when these can be worked, to be discussed further at interview. You’ll be required to travel across the North of England, typically several times per month, depending on project needs, and the locations of sites and partners you’ll be working with. Specific contractual location and flexible working arrangements will be discussed at interview stage. This role can be based either of our hubs in Cumbria, Manchester, Altrincham, York or Newcastle.
