Job title: Security Engineer
Client: Investment Bank
Rate: Up to £550 p/d (inside IR35)
Duration: 6 month rolling
Location: London / Hybrid
You’ll be joining a team of highly motivated technical specialists responsible for delivering, managing and optimising the bank’s cyber security tooling. This role requires someone who can rapidly self-educate, take ownership of platforms and processes, and confidently drive change.
You will:
* Rapidly upskill on the existing technology stack through vendor training, documentation and hands-on experimentation.
* Own the design, implementation and ongoing management of security tools, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems and workflows.
* Build and document service wrappers: operational procedures, runbooks, support models and processes.
* Identify technology or process gaps and proactively suggest solutions—without waiting for direction.
* Take full ownership of BAU activities, break-fix, and enhancements.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain High-Level and Low-Level Designs for security solutions.
* Create Service Architectures including runbooks, service descriptions, KPIs/KRIs.
* Implement and document BAU processes and workflows.
* Manage break-fix issues and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate with external vendors to drive platform evolution.
* Perform out-of-hours work where required to accommodate change windows.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* 3+ years creating technical architectures (HLD/LLD).
* 3+ years deploying and managing cyber security technologies in enterprise environments.
* 3+ years experience with Windows patching via WSUS and SCCM.
* Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across diverse teams and cultures.
* High level of autonomy with exceptional communication skills.
* Excellent organisational and documentation abilities with a process-driven mindset.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Experience in consulting or financial services (highly desirable).
