Offer description

Crown Court Admin Officers are responsible for managing criminal digital files in preparation for hearings, including handling correspondence and general enquiries. The Crown office deals with enquiries from criminal justice agencies, solicitors, barristers, and the public via post, email, telephone, and face-to-face interactions. The role involves managing a range of serious criminal work and juror management. You will be assigned to teams performing various administrative duties to progress cases through the court/tribunal system or support other HMCTS functions.

Skills and Experience: With a friendly and approachable manner, you'll have excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a desire to deliver proactive customer support via phone and email. You should be skilled in organizing your time, prioritizing tasks, multitasking, and adapting to various software packages. Enjoy working in a busy environment and helping court users navigate the justice system.

For more information, please refer to the attached job description. These roles are customer-facing, requiring office-based work to provide HMCTS services to the public. Standard hours are 37 per week, with flexible and part-time options considered, including a minimum of 22.2 hours per week.

The reserve list will be managed based on location preferences, and appointments will be made in merit order for each location. Applicants should only indicate locations they are willing to work in. Virtual interviews and alternative dates may be considered only in exceptional circumstances.

Note on Skilled Worker Visa: Starting salary falls below the visa sponsorship threshold. Applicants must have held a Skilled Worker visa since before 4 April 2024 or meet other criteria for sponsorship considerations. Please discuss eligibility during vetting if applicable.

Working Arrangements: The MoJ offers hybrid working, with at least 60% of time spent in an office. The nearest office to your home postcode will be your base location. Terms and conditions may vary with Civil Service reforms. Flexible working hours are supported, and applications for part-time, flexible, and job-sharing patterns are welcomed.
