Providing assurance that the ScottishPower Safety Rules (Electrical & Mechanical) are being consistently and effectively applied across all business units and contractors, you will be responsible for rigorous auditing of staff and contractors in the Regulated business, addressing negative trends and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
Offering expert advice to the Networks Business Executive team and line management on electrical safety matters, you will contribute to the production, refinement, and updating of electrical safety rules, procedures, and training programmes, while supporting the delivery of operational training and authorization processes.
You will also lead and contribute to operational safety incident investigations throughout their life-cycle, including representing the company in legal processes where necessary.
What you'll be doing
* Auditing authorized staff and contractors to ensure compliance with Safety Rules and supporting documentation, targeting safety breaches and electrical accident elimination.
* Providing high-quality technical audit reports, recommending updates to Safety Rules and procedures to ensure legislative compliance.
* Communicating changes effectively to staff and contractors, including in-person training, to uphold high safety standards and clarity on compliance requirements.
* Becoming fully conversant with ScottishPower Safety Rules (Electrical & Mechanical) and providing expert interpretation when needed.
* Assisting Group Compliance with authorization processes, conducting interviews, auditing contractors, and ensuring effective internal audits and site compliance during emergencies.
* Producing, updating, and reviewing training materials, delivering presentations, and conducting safety seminars.
What you'll bring
Senior Authorised Person experience in a UK DNO or TNO or equivalent, demonstrating technical expertise and good knowledge of Electrical Safety Rules and related policies.
Educated to HNC level or higher in Engineering, or with substantial relevant experience, with a proven track record in technical report drafting, problem-solving, and safety rule compliance improvements.
