An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Senior Management Team at the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners as Deputy Director for Policy. The recent Police Reform White Paper points the way to significant change across the sector, including a move away from the PCC model to more mayors and the creation of Local Police and Crime Boards. The APCC is well-placed to respond to these changes and will also need to reassert its own place in a reformed system. You will therefore be joining the organisation at a fascinating and transformational time.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across the organisation, whilst influentially shaping national policing, criminal justice and community safety policy and strategy on behalf of Police (Fire) and Crime Commissioners, Deputy Mayors and other policing governance bodies (hereafter PCCs).

This is a rewarding and demanding role in which you will work directly with the Chief Executive and

APCC Board. You will provide strategic leadership across the organisation, driving high quality policy development and research, horizon scanning, and strategic planning. You will work directly with the Chief Executive and APCC Board to ensure the Association delivers real value for its members and plays an influential role in national policing and criminal justice reform.

About the APCC: The APCC is the national membership organisation representing Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs), deputy mayors and other local policing bodies. We work across England and Wales to support PCCs to provide national leadership and drive strategic change in policing, criminal justice and community safety, operating in the public interest.

Location: We balance working in our Westminster office with working remotely. The organisation supports flexible work although some attendance in London would be required.
