Overview
The School of Psychology at Cardiff University is seeking a enthusiastic Educational Psychologist to contribute to professional teaching for Education Psychologists in training and to contribute to all aspects of delivering the Doctoral Programme in Educational Psychology (DEdPSy).
Responsibilities
* Deliver full teaching load, develop, deliver and evaluate modules/programmes on the Doctoral Programme in Educational Psychology (DEdPSy) as part of postgraduate provision.
* Supervise students and undertake administrative duties in the field as required.
* Contribute to excellence in teaching and inspire others to do likewise.
* Contribute to scholarship in the field through conferences, seminars and academic/professional fora; produce scholarly outputs.
* Engage with industry, commercial and public bodies, professional bodies and other academic institutions to raise the School’s profile and develop strategic partnerships.
* Participate in School and University governance and activities to promote the School and its work regionally and nationally.
* Carry out any other duties compatible with the grade and scope of the post.

Qualifications
* Professional postgraduate qualification at Master’s level or DEdPSy
* At least two years’ practice as a registered Educational Psychologist with HCPC in a UK local authority
Skills and Experience
* Experience in teaching and supervising in Educational Psychology
* Experience and understanding of postgraduate-level research
* Ability to plan, deliver and develop modules across School teaching programmes
Additional Skills
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and confidently
* Ability to provide appropriate pastoral support to students and act as Personal Tutor
* Ability to lead modules and coordinate with others to meet student needs
* Creativity, initiative and teamwork
Desirable Criteria
* Relevant professional qualifications
* Knowledge of the Welsh education context and a track record of practice in Wales
* Ability to work in Welsh
Other information
This is a 0.4 FTE (14 hours per week) fixed-term post until 30 June 2026, to cover maternity leave. The role is available immediately.
Salary will be paid in accordance with the Soulbury pay spine, with an appointment between Soulbury Scale B1-7, £48,727 - £58,210 per annum, pro rata.
