Applications are invited for two NIHR funded integrated academic training clinical lecturer posts in Neurology, Public Health Medicine, or General Practice at Lancaster Medical School. Post duration is up to four years, or until completion of clinical training (CCT), whichever is sooner. Two posts are available: one in the NIHR priority theme of digital research, the other open to other GMC registered specialties.
Clinicians will undertake internationally regarded research and share responsibility for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes. You will receive a training contract with Health Education England Northwest in the specialist registrar/specialty trainee grade or equivalent and an honorary contract with a relevant NHS Trust.
Digital research theme focuses on developing and delivering digital health and care interventions, digital research methodology, big data analysis, AI and machine‑learning, and emerging digital technologies such as non‑contact sensors, smartphones, and tablets. Potential research includes data analytics, predictive analytics, precision medicine (genomics), and virtual & augmented reality. The aim is to deliver equitable, cost‑effective digital health interventions that benefit patients and advance research.
Eligibility: hold (or have submitted) a PhD/MD, fully awarded by 30 September 2026. Hold a current National Training Number (NTN) in the relevant specialty and be more than 12 months prior to CCT at appointment (GP candidates only need earlier criteria). Must be able to take up the post by 30 September 2026.
