Diana Princess of Wales & Scunthorpe General Hospital Vacancies. Applications are invited for dynamic, forward-thinking Consultants to provide support and work alongside the already extended Consultant and Specialist Team in our Emergency Department.
The post could be filled on a full or part time basis. Any candidate who is unable, for personal reasons, to work full time will still be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on an individual basis. Job share applicants are also welcome.

You would be joining an enthusiastic team at Scunthorpe General Hospital and Diana Princess of Wales hospital. The rota will involve working on the senior decision-making rota.
There will also be the availability of suitable development opportunities such as management, additional responsibilities, academia and research which will support both the department and individual needs.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be appointed as Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School (HYMS). This honorary appointment is in recognition of contribution to teaching and research and holders of honorary titles may request access to HYMS and University premises and facilities, systems, and library services.
Main Duties
The Trust has recognised the need to provide extended hours of Consultant shop-floor cover at evening and weekends in order improve the quality and safety of unscheduled care to patients and has approved a Consultant expansion programme.
The Consultant establishment has recently been increased with substantial investment resulting in 142 Pas per site. The appointments are based at the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby and/or Scunthorpe General Hospital.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to work as part of an established multi-disciplinary team inputting and helping to develop care within an Emergency Medicine pathway. The successful candidate will work autonomously to a level of defined competencies with the primary focus on providing direct clinical care, meeting service delivery and improvement requirements.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the provision of a first class clinical service
* Provide effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty
* Sustain and develop teaching and research wherever appropriate
* Undertake all work in accordance with the Trusts procedures and operating policies
* Conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trusts and Medicine Groups service plans
Person Specification
* Fellowship of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM) or equivalent medical qualification
* Undertaken programme of training or equivalent acceptable to the Royal College of Emergency Medicine for appointment to Consultant Status
* Entry on the Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within six months of interview), CESR or European Community Rights
