Overview
The Manor House Hotel and Spa is a historic hotel located in West Auckland, offering a warm and friendly welcome with a mix of historic charm and modern features. This is a full-time on-site role for a Head Chef, based in Allensford.
The Head Chef will be responsible for leading the kitchen team, planning and creating menus, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and overseeing all food preparation. The role includes ordering supplies, managing kitchen budgets, and ensuring guest satisfaction by delivering high-quality meals.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage kitchen staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
* Plan and create menus that meet quality standards and guest expectations.
* Maintain food quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
* Oversee all food preparation and cooking processes.
* Order supplies and manage inventory and food costs.
* Monitor kitchen budgets and controls to maximize efficiency.
* Ensure guest satisfaction through consistently high-quality meals.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience in culinary arts, including menu planning and food preparation
* Leadership and team management skills
* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
* Budgeting and inventory management skills
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Formal culinary training or relevant certification
* Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
