Our client is a successful brokerage in the Financial Services industry, based in London, seeking to hire a Credit Risk Analyst.
Description
The Credit Risk Analyst will support the Head of Risk in ensuring compliance with credit risk policies and procedures, fostering a sound environment for granting, measuring, monitoring, and controlling credit risk.
Responsibilities include:
1. Perform credit assessments, reviews, and ratings of potential and current clients/counterparties, including corporates and financial institutions.
2. Present credit risk assessments and recommendations to the Credit Committee for approval.
3. Monitor client exposure against various limits and recommend risk mitigation actions for breaches.
4. Oversee client margin calls and report/escalate breaches of internal controls.
5. Maintain and update credit records and documentation, including financials, approved limits, and review decisions.
6. Manage a portfolio of clients for regular reviews of financial and non-financial information impacting credit lines, recommending actions to the Head of Credit.
7. Stay informed on relevant regulations and best practices related to credit operations.
8. Keep abreast of market developments in portfolio credit risk measurement.
Profile
Ideal candidates will have:
* A degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
* At least 2-3 years of experience in commodities credit risk management, preferably with LME, CME, and/or ICE.
* Understanding of inherent risks in granting credit lines for IM and VM requirements.
* Strong report writing skills and ability to analyze large datasets.
* Experience handling trading documentation from a risk perspective (e.g., ISDA/CSA, Terms of Business, Loan Agreement). An advantage if experienced with Guarantees.
* Proficiency in risk analysis and management principles.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and reporting skills.
* Proficiency with data analysis software and tools.
* Knowledge of regulatory standards in Financial Services.
