We source, produce and deliver over 6.5 billion litres of premium products each year across more than 200 brands in 180 countries. Our success is built on the diversity, expertise and passion of our people. At Diageo, you’ll be encouraged to collaborate, innovate and grow while helping to build brands consumers love.
About the Role
The Quality Assurance Department is a critical part of Diageo’s production operation, providing analytical support and technical expertise across Quality, Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
A key objective of the role is to ensure packaged products fully comply with statutory requirements, technical standards and market specifications, while actively supporting Diageo’s Continuous Improvement agenda and Strategic Quality Plan.
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be a key member of a shift-based operational team, working closely with Team Managers, Production Coordinators, operators, engineers and compliance teams to maintain the highest quality standards across packaging operations.
You will provide on-shift quality leadership, acting as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters and ensuring issues are identified, escalated and resolved in a timely and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work as part of the operational shift team, following a continental shift pattern, including holiday cover as required.
2. Complete analytical and microbiological sampling and testing in line with the Quality Sampling Plan across production lines and designated areas.
3. Analyse quality and production data and documentation to identify potential quality risks, investigate deviations and drive follow-up actions.
4. Provide clear, high-quality feedback to shift teams, management and Continuous Improvement teams.
5. Monitor, validate, set up and troubleshoot quality instrumentation to ensure ongoing accuracy and reliability.
6. Act as the key quality point of contact during shift operations, supporting effective decision-making.
7. Ensure full compliance with safety, health, environmental, quality and housekeeping policies, procedures and standards at all times.
About You
You are a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong commitment to quality, food safety and compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing or packaging environment. You take pride in maintaining high standards and have the confidence to challenge, influence and support operational teams to ensure quality requirements are consistently met.
You are comfortable working within a shift-based operation and thrive in a hands-on manufacturing environment that demands strong organisation, attention to detail and effective communication.
Analytical in your approach, you are able to interpret data, identify trends, investigate issues and provide clear, constructive feedback to both operational and management teams.
You place safety at the heart of everything you do, recognising the importance of procedures, standards and quality systems. You are adaptable, resilient and capable of managing changing priorities while maintaining accuracy, professionalism and a continuous improvement mindset.
