Chichester College is seeking two ESOL Lecturers to join our fantastic team and deliver an exciting curriculum to students whose first language isn't English. We deliver to both part-time and full-time learners who have a variety of backgrounds but want to learn as they integrate into the local community.
Contract: Fixed term for one year.
Salary: Pro rata of £26,716 - £41,659 per annum (i.e. £21,372.80 - £33,327.20)
Hours: 29.6 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
The Associate Lecturer in Foundation Learning / Gateway Inclusion Role:
As our Associate Lecturer in Foundation Learning / Gateway Inclusion, you will undertake teaching activities in the curriculum area, ensuring a high quality of provision, in response to learners’ needs. Working collaboratively and innovatively with managers and colleagues to design, develop, manage, and review programmes in the curriculum area and ensuring that student needs are met in a responsive way, in line with the concept of inclusive learning.
Key Responsibilities of our Lecturer in ESOL:
To undertake teaching and learning related activities, as agreed.
To ensure that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
To undertake administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
To take an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
To develop curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
To understand personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
Keep up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
To participate in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment
Our ideal Lecturer in ESOL should have the following skills and experience:
Experience delivering ESOL lessons
Relevant subject experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups
Level 2 literacy and numeracy
Professional and/or academic qualifications in ESOL
Level 3 (or equivalent) in related subject
