JOB SUMMARY:
To contribute to the provision of a comprehensive, effective and responsive to support the service provision and delivery to colleagues and clients. To work as part of a team providing cover for service when necessary and ensuring that all directorate-wide initiatives, objectives and deadlines are met and functions adequately resourced to maintain quality service delivery throughout.
To deliver effective accurate processing of all housing licence applications within the private rented sector for Additional, Selective and Mandatory licensing. To assess and ensure compliance accordance with the Housing Act 2004 with all applications and regulate application submission and checks to the local authority.

To undertake processing of all applications for Selective, Additional and Mandatory licensing applications and carry application case load ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with statutory requirements, the Councils policies and procedures, the highest professional practice and to the benefit of the residents of the Borough.
To understand technical and legislation of Private sector housing requirements within the applications and be able to assess and identify risks in processing applications.
To undertake occasionally some visits and revisit to check licence application premises on status and occupation levels. including visiting sites alone to taking necessary notes in premises, such visits will involve attending locations and encountering situations which may involve personal risk.
To provide advice with application enquiries and provide customer service to the public.
To be able to be proficient and confidently use the IT systems/applications and be able confidentially operate and use computers.
To assist the lead officers Environmental Health Officer/Housing Standards Officer on investigating problematic applications that require investigations.
Provide well accurate data inputting and ability to identify application deficiencies and missing documentations
Be able to analyse correct payment for licence fees
To liaise with lead officers, support administrative officers and applicants, licence holders and landlords being able to communicate effectively both orally and written.
