About the Role
We are working with a reputable and forward-thinking accountancy practice in the South Birmingham area, seeking a Client Manager to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual who enjoys managing client relationships, overseeing accounts preparation, and working to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. As a Client Manager, you will be responsible for managing client deadlines, handling client queries, and supporting the team in delivering high-quality services. You will report directly to the Senior Managers and Directors, playing a key role in maintaining the high standards of service expected by clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Regularly liaise with allocated clients, managing their queries and ensuring all records are collated to meet deadlines
* Review VAT returns prepared by the team and ensure accuracy
* Conduct reviews of client accounts before they are handed over to senior management for final review
* Prepare accounts to draft stage for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
* Prepare management accounts for clients when required
* Conduct client visits at their premises to build strong relationships and gather necessary information
* Assist other client managers with work planning and prioritising tasks
* Prepare ad-hoc VAT returns when necessary
* Support and help train junior team members, helping to develop the next generation of accountants
Role Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience and competence in the following areas:
* Strong communication skills, both with clients and within the team
* Experience managing people and leading teams effectively
* Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks in a busy environment
* Confidence in liaising with senior management and working collaboratively within a team
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
Qualifications & Experience
* Fully qualified member of a chartered professional body such as ACCA, CA, CIMA, or ICAEW (via the examination route)
* A full UK driving licence is required due to the need for client visits
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
