Job Title: Medical Secretary - General Surgical Team
Working as a member of the General Surgical Team, providing efficient and effective secretarial support for Consultant General Surgeons to support high-quality patient and staff services within the Specialty.
1. Accurately transcribe patient-related correspondence and reports from audio or copy typing using appropriate software, adhering to organisational standards and competencies.
2. Produce standard letters on behalf of the clinical team.
3. Type complex reports and letters, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
4. Maintain accurate and timely information on the patient information system.
5. Assist in managing the specialty waiting list, ensuring data accuracy and efficient utilisation, including replacing short notice cancellations and admitting routine patients chronologically.
6. Enter patients onto the waiting list on the WPAS system accurately.
7. Process casenotes via IFIT promptly.
8. Request and dispatch casenotes to/from relevant locations and the Health Board, ensuring timely responses.
Desirable: Ability to speak Welsh; applications in Welsh are welcome and will be treated equally.
