We are currently looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to deliver person-centred support to individuals who present high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, and mental health problems. You will be working in a school supporting children and young people who need 1:1 support for various reasons, such as:
1. Children in Looked After Care
2. Anxiety
3. Exclusion
4. Speech and language difficulties
5. Physical and mental health issues, disabilities, and learning difficulties
You must have:
* Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
* Experience of de-escalation training (advantageous)
* Background in youth work or similar roles considered
* Confidence to make decisions
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students
* Empathy and understanding
* Willingness to develop skills through professional training and development
