Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager
We're partnering with an innovative technology business that is moving from a research and development environment into full-scale commercialisation and manufacturing.
As the company continues to scale, they are seeking a Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager to establish and lead quality governance, compliance frameworks and supplier quality processes across the organisation.
This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to build quality systems from the ground up, influence product development and industrialisation, and ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, compliance and manufacturing readiness.
The Opportunity
This role will take ownership of quality assurance, compliance and governance activities across product development, supplier management and production readiness.
Working closely with engineering, operations, supply chain and manufacturing partners, you'll develop the processes, controls and quality systems required to support business growth and successful product delivery.
The position would suit someone who enjoys creating structure, driving continuous improvement and working within a growing technology business where they can have a significant impact.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Management Systems
* Develop, implement and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) processes and documentation.
* Support ISO 9001 compliance and ongoing system development.
* Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.
* Establish quality procedures, standards and controlled documentation processes.
Quality Assurance & Governance
* Lead quality assurance activities across product development and manufacturing readiness.
* Ensure effective quality governance throughout the product lifecycle.
* Monitor quality performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Supplier Quality Management
* Manage supplier quality processes and performance.
* Conduct supplier quality assessments and support supplier development activities.
* Lead investigation and resolution of supplier-related quality issues.
* Support supplier qualification and audit processes.
Compliance & Product Certification
* Support product certification and regulatory compliance activities.
* Ensure products meet CE, UKCA, EMC and relevant product safety requirements.
* Maintain compliance documentation, technical files and traceability records.
* Liaise with certification bodies and external auditors where required.
Quality Improvement & Problem Solving
* Lead CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) activities.
* Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
* Support product validation and verification activities.
* Ensure lessons learned are captured and implemented across projects.
Production Readiness & Cross-Functional Support
* Work closely with Product Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain teams to support product industrialisation and production readiness.
* Contribute to engineering release, change control and configuration management activities.
* Support manufacturing partners during product launch and scale-up phases.
* Help establish robust quality processes that support future growth.
What We're Looking ForEssential Experience
* Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Compliance Management.
* Implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
* Internal and external audit preparation and support.
* Supplier Quality Management and supplier issue resolution.
* Experience within engineering, electronics, manufacturing or technology environments.
* Root cause analysis, CAPA and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Strong documentation, governance and process management skills.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
Desirable Experience
* New Product Introduction (NPI) or product industrialisation.
* Electronics manufacturing environments.
* Lighting or LED products.
* Power electronics or power conversion technologies.
* Energy, electrical products or clean technology sectors.
* Advanced manufacturing or industrial technology environments.
Knowledge & Expertise
* CE and UKCA compliance requirements.
* EMC compliance and product safety standards.
* Supplier audits and qualification processes.
* Manufacturing quality systems and process controls.
* Product validation and verification methodologies.
* Documentation control and product traceability.
