A Headteacher at a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Bury is seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to join their team as soon as possible. The school is committed to equipping students with the skills, confidence and character they need to succeed in an ever-changing world. They pride themselves on strong relationships between staff, students, parents and carers, alongside a broad and balanced curriculum and a culture that encourages every young person to shine.
You’ll need experience in:
* Monitoring, recording and analysing student attendance and punctuality
* Using school information systems (such as SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or similar) to maintain accurate attendance records
* Communicating effectively with students, parents and carers to follow up absences
* Working with pastoral teams to identify patterns of concern and support strategies to improve attendance
* Producing attendance reports for senior leaders and external agencies where required
* Understanding safeguarding procedures and knowing when to elevate concerns
Desired:
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
* Knowledge of attendance legislation and DfE guidance (training can be provided)
