About the role
As Data Services Manager – Bus Reform, you will lead the development of data and analytics services that underpin the transition to a franchised bus system in South Yorkshire. You will help put data at the centre of how we design, deliver, and improve transport services to affect how people live, work, and travel across the region.
You will work with the Bus Reform team and the Assistant Director Data and Analytics Transformational Change - Bus Reform to scope and implement the data, analysis, and reporting infrastructure needed to support both the transition and ongoing delivery of franchised services. This includes building resilient data pipelines, leading digital transformation initiatives, and establishing strategic data partnerships.
You will also be responsible for ensuring robust data governance, generating actionable insights, and evolving ways of working using the latest technologies to meet evolving organisational needs. This is a high-impact role that will shape the future of public transport in South Yorkshire.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development of data and analytics services to support the franchising transition and ongoing service delivery.
* Build and maintain data pipelines, governance, and partnerships; drive digital transformation initiatives.
* Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with data protection requirements.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design data-enabled decision-making processes.
About you
We’re looking for a collaborative and forward-thinking professional with:
* A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience in a relevant role.
* Significant experience in data, analytics, and management information within complex policy or delivery environments.
* Significant technical expertise and leadership in data and digital transformation, including keeping abreast of the latest technologies and working with real-time information.
* Substantial knowledge of data governance protocols and quality assurance, including adherence to data quality standards and data protection requirements.
* A track record scoping and delivering projects or programmes which align with organisational priorities, deliver tangible results and improve decision making.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analysis to non-technical audiences.
* Exceptional drive, motivation, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Experience in transport policy or delivery, and knowledge of advanced analytical techniques, would be advantageous.
