Job summary
This is a new substantive full-time post (though less than full time applicants are strongly encouraged to apply). The Consultant will provide input working to a 7.5 Direct clinical care and 2.5 supporting professional activities work programme.
The rationale behind this post is to embody the trust ethos of wellbeing and create sustainable, sought-after consultant roles within each locality of the trust.
The post holder will provide consultant cover (4 PA) to the Hambleton CMHT and will be supported by a postgraduate doctor (shared). The post holder will also provide Consultant cover (6 PA) into the memory service covering Hambleton and Richmondshire.
There are two other MHSOP Consultants in the Northallerton area. One Consultant covers Hospital liaison and the Consultant covers the Richmondshire CMHT.
There are three other consultants in Harrogate providing cover for CMHT, crisis, memory and liaison services.
The post is based at North Moor House in Northallerton. The Consultant has a designated office. The CMHT & Memory Staff will be in the same building. There is full time medical secretary support based on the same floor.
Main duties of the job
Maintain good clinical records using Trusts electronic record system
Undertake administrative duties associated with the care of patients
Record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively in line with the team documentation standards and required tools.
Maintain a revalidation portfolio and participate in annual appraisal
Undertake a job plan review with the Lead Psychiatrist/AMD and Service manager annually
Maintain professional registration with the GMC
Approval as an Approved Clinician and Section 12(2) approved doctor. If not approved at the point of appointment it will be expected that approval will be gained within three months of appointment when interim MHA related work will be supported by other CMHT consultants/ SAS doctor.
Comply with Trusts agreed policies and procedures
