Role Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Level Chartered Building Surveyor to join our established Technical Due Diligence & Building Surveying team. The core responsibilities will largely relate to transactional based instructions across the UK, with the opportunity to assist on pan-European projects also. The workload will be varied and include a mixture of technical advisory and some professional and heritage project work with flexibility to accommodate the specific skill sets and aspirations of the applicant. The successful candidate will be technically excellent and have a broad range and experience of commercial surveying, including Technical Due Diligence (TDD) and Condition Surveys. The candidate should be able to manage multiple instructions, balance a number of different instructions simultaneously, focus on service delivery, working as part of a larger commission team and supporting to achieve exceptional outcomes for clients. The candidate should be confident in dealing directly with the client. The candidate will be required to manage time effectively to meet deadlines and ensure profitability of instructions.
Role Accountabilities
* The key focus will be around TDD advice and reporting to identify key risks, the severity and quantification, and recommendations for mitigation.
* The position includes a high level of responsibility and accountability, with an opportunity to develop managerial as well as technical knowledge and skills, and to progress within a successful and growing specialist team.
* You will manage and undertake professional technical consultancy commissions including Technical Due Diligence, condition surveys and infrequently dilapidations and some projects.
* You will effectively communicate ensuring all information is available for successful implementation and completion of projects.
* Liaise with the Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure efficient financial control resulting in a cost effective service.
* You will ensure the Sector Director has quantified information on the progress of each contract on a regular basis.
* Support with mentoring and supervising our junior building surveyors.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Building Surveying and MRICS qualified.
* Excellent technical ability.
* Multi-discipline experience.
* A broad thinker with a global view and an inherent ability to deliver successfully.
* Ability to manage project risk.
* Ability to be flexible to meet tight project deadlines.
* Manage quality standards to ensure high quality output.
* Understand the transaction process including requirements of funders.
* Understanding of both technical and legislative requirements along with a good commercial awareness.
* Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills enabling strong working relationships with clients.
