GAC UK employs a team of over 350 specialists across 25+ branches throughout the UK, Ireland, and Gibraltar. We focus on providing integrated shipping, logistics, and marine solutions to diverse industries, including offshore oil & gas, renewable energy, and various shipping sectors such as cruise liners, superyachts, tankers, and dry bulk vessels. Our teams also serve niche markets in marine leisure, sports, events, automotive, and aviation sectors, prioritizing high standards of customer service, operational excellence, and delivery.
Due to expansion, GAC is currently recruiting for a full-time Jetty & Terminal Operator based in Bristol, covering Bristol and surrounding sites.
A brief overview of the role requirements:
Jetty and Terminal Operators
1. Maintain high standards of quality, safety, security, health, and environmental protection by adhering to company and client policies, procedures, and risk assessments. Report hazards, incidents, or safety issues.
2. Ensure vessels are moored correctly and aligned with shore loading arms and connections.
3. Ensure safe access for vessels via rigged gangways, maintaining this throughout operations.
4. Connect/disconnect loading arms and spool pieces.
5. Open/close valves to ensure proper product discharge into shore tanks.
6. Perform Ship Shore Checklist and checks in line with ISGOTT for safe discharge.
7. Monitor for leaks and adjust connections as needed.
8. Take samples from ships, cargo lines, shore tanks, and truck bays, testing as per customer requirements.
9. Conduct line displacements, stripping, and pigging operations.
10. Accurately record activities and findings during shifts.
11. Work hours will vary based on shipping and tidal conditions.
Job requirements
The ideal candidates will have:
* An understanding of a proactive safety culture.
* Marine or terminal experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
* A full clean driving license and own transport.
* Willingness to travel between sites (travel costs covered).
