Commercial Services Manager
Be part of the Environment Agency’s Commercial and Framework Management (CAFM) team, supporting the delivery of commercial risk management across national programmes. Your role focuses on commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors, delivering value for money, and embedding best practice through pathfinder programmes.
Responsibilities
* Provide commercial governance and commercial assurance for contracts with external consultancies and contractors.
* Support the commercial assurance and framework management team across the country.
* Champion effective governance and commercial interpretation practices.
* Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
* Manage contractual and commercial interpretations within a high‑performing team.
* Undertake incident response duties and training as required.
Experience & Skills Required
* A‑Level, Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Strong data and document management skills.
* Commercial acumen – ability to analyse business situations, take proportionate risk, and deliver value for money.
* Administration and organisational skills – minute writing, report drafting.
* Willingness to pursue long‑term professional qualifications such as NEC training, CIPS.
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
Desired Professional Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience.
* Working towards recognition with a professional body such as ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS or RICS.
* Formal training in contract management (e.g., NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
