This position is a hybrid role, based in Yeovil, Somerset, and is classified as Level 6 on our Salary & Career Progression Framework.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the project team with responsibility and authority from the Programme Manager or Sponsor, ensuring delivery to schedule, cost, and quality.
2. Interface between the project and functional business areas to achieve project deliverables.
3. Promote good communication and encourage change across functional areas.
4. Coordinate the project and interdependencies, resolving or mitigating risks and issues, supported by the Programme Management Office.
5. Ensure activities align with LH policies and processes.
6. Manage the project lifecycle delivery, including planning, monitoring, and controlling project progress, resolving issues, and initiating corrective actions.
7. Develop and monitor project plans, and identify support and advice needed for effective project management.
8. Oversee project budgets, monitor expenditure, and ensure benefits realization.
9. Manage authorizations and profitability in line with accountability levels.
10. Identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
11. Liaise with programme management, customers, and vendors to ensure alignment.
12. Apply change control and configuration management processes.
13. Conduct project reviews, communicate findings, and ensure effective communication channels.
14. Report project progress regularly to management and stakeholders.
15. Chair configuration change and implementation boards as required.
16. Employ project management techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling projects.
17. Apply business case and risk management principles.
18. Establish strong relationships with project stakeholders, including senior responsible owners and customer representatives.
19. Build and maintain effective communication within the project team and with other involved roles.
20. Lead, motivate, and develop the project team.
21. Create and maintain detailed project and stage plans.
22. Manage deployment of resources to meet milestones.
23. Apply quality management principles and solve problems proactively.
