We are seeking a caring, patient, and resilient SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a wonderful school. This rewarding role involves working closely with a student on a one-to-one basis, helping them access learning, build confidence, and make consistent progress within a nurturing and structured environment. The position begins in May 2025.

Duties as a SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
1. Provide personalised, 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties).
2. Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to implement individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.
3. Adapt tasks and learning materials to suit the pupil’s needs.
4. Foster emotional wellbeing, communication, and independence.
5. Support learning both in and out of the classroom, including during transitions and unstructured times.
6. Maintain clear and accurate records of progress and behaviour.
Ideal SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
1. Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a 1:1 setting.
2. A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach.
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
4. Ability to follow support plans while using initiative to respond to the pupil’s needs.
5. A genuine passion for supporting children to thrive.
